My Philosophy
My goal is to empower high school students to navigate their college applications with confidence. I will help them develop a balanced list of schools where they will thrive and achieve their educational goals, and walk them through the often confusing and stressful application process.
My Story
I graduated from New York City’s Stuyvesant High School and got my BA in History and International Relations from Tufts University.
After working in the advertising industry and years of experience as a freelance writer (with a three-year circumnavigation on board a 36’ sailboat thrown in there), I decided to transition to college counseling after helping family friends and my own kids navigate their applications. I love working with high school students; discovering their passions, identifying schools where they will thrive, and guiding them through the ins and outs of the process.
My approach to college counseling centers on empowering students to take control of their futures. We work together to uncover their strengths and individuality, crafting applications that highlight their unique qualities, and working as a team to maximize every opportunity.
I received a Certificate in College Counseling with Distinction from UCLA Extension, read professional journals and articles daily to stay on top of the latest developments in college admissions and take every opportunity to tour colleges all across the country. As a member of the Independent Education Consultants Association (IECA), a professional organization focused on college counseling, I abide by their Principles of Good Practice and ethical standards. I regularly attend professional conferences to meet with colleagues and take continuing education seminars to further my ongoing education and stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of college admissions.

Principles and Guidelines of Good Practice
As an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and a member of the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC), I adhere to strict ethical guidelines. You can review those standards by clicking on the link below.

IECA Principles of Good Practice
I intentionally keep my practice small so I can focus on providing a personal experience for my students. I am accessible and responsive, and your student will always be my top priority.
All of my students get one on one counseling. I take the onus off of you, the parent, so your relationship won’t be put under the stress of application deadlines and to do’s. I create a timeline for every step of the process and make sure tasks are completed.
